Cookie & storage policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Browser storage, such as localStorage, works in a similar way. This page lists everything our shop stores in your browser and why.
What we use
Most of what we store is strictly necessary for the shop to work. The only optional item is Google Analytics, which sets its cookies only if you click Accept in the cookie notice. We do not use advertising cookies.
pd_session (cookie)
- Purpose: keeps you signed in to My account so you can see your orders and download your files.
- Set by: PetiteDiary Shop.
- Duration: up to 30 days, or until you sign out.
- Details: HttpOnly, so it cannot be read by scripts on the page.
pd_admin (cookie)
- Purpose: keeps the shop owner signed in to the admin area.
- Set by: PetiteDiary Shop.
- Duration: for the admin session only.
- Details: used only by the shop owner, never set for customers.
Cart contents (localStorage)
- Purpose: remembers the products in your cart while you browse.
- Set by: PetiteDiary Shop, in your own browser.
- Duration: until you complete your order, empty your cart or clear your browser data.
- Details: stays in your browser and is not sent to us until you go to checkout.
PayPal cookies
- Purpose: when you open the PayPal or card checkout window, PayPal sets its own cookies inside that window for security and fraud prevention.
- Set by: PayPal.
- Duration: set by PayPal. See PayPal's privacy and cookie information on paypal.com.
Google Analytics (optional, only with your consent)
- Purpose: helps us understand which pages and products people visit, how they found the shop and whether checkout works well, so we can improve it. The reports we see are aggregated and do not show who you are.
- Set by: Google (Google Analytics 4), cookies named
_gaand_ga_*. - Duration: up to 14 months.
- Details: these cookies are set only after you click Accept. If you decline or make no choice, no analytics cookies are set. In that case Google may still receive basic page-view signals without cookies, which do not identify you across visits. Advertising features are turned off. Pages with private links, such as your order page, My account and the admin area, do not load Google Analytics at all.
pd-consent (localStorage)
- Purpose: remembers whether you accepted or declined Google Analytics, so we do not ask again on every page.
- Set by: PetiteDiary Shop, in your own browser.
- Duration: until you change your choice or clear your browser data.
Changing your choice
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we stop analytics from that moment. You can also delete existing _ga cookies in your browser settings.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. If you block them, some parts of the shop may not work, such as staying signed in to My account or keeping items in your cart.
