Budget booklet you fold at home: monthly and cash envelope mini booklets
One slim booklet a month for bills, spending, savings and debt. Print, fold, staple, done.
Overview
This budget booklet prints on your home printer and folds into two little books: an undated monthly booklet of 20 booklet pages and a weekly mini booklet in envelope style with 8 booklet pages. The pages are already arranged in saddle-stitch order on landscape sheets, so you simply print on both sides, fold the stack down the middle and add staples.
You receive a 17 page PDF in two versions. The US Letter one prints half letter pages of 5.5 x 8.5 in, and the A4 one prints A5 pages of 148 x 210 mm. Download it at once. Nothing is posted.
How the budget booklet keeps your month simple
Since every booklet page fills precisely one half of the paper, scissors are never needed. The first page is printed beside the final one, the second beside the one before last, and the numbering lines up the moment you fold. A full month of money lives in one thin book: an overview of 14 spending categories, your income, a checklist of bills where you tick autopay and paid, four logs for weekly spending each with a check-in, goals for saving, a debt payoff page, no-spend days, sinking funds and an end of month review.
Print a new copy each month and keep the old ones together for an easy record of where your money went. If you budget with cash, the envelope week mini booklet is its natural home, with a plan for 8 envelopes, a spending log shaped like an envelope for each one and a closing page to add up the totals.

What's inside (17)
Inside the budget booklet: 17 PDF pages
- 1Cover page listing the contents
- 2Printing help, with a table showing both booklets and which PDF pages and sheets belong to each, how the sheets fit together, settings for double-sided printing, a tip to test one sheet first, steps for manual duplex and a box to note your own printer settings
- 3Imposition and duplex guide. It maps the monthly booklet sheet by sheet, showing what prints on the front and the back of each of its 5 sheets, gives the page order of the mini booklet, walks you through five steps (print, stack, fold, staple, check), and shares tips for heavier paper and for stapling when you do not own a long reach stapler
- 4 to 13The monthly booklet, 20 pages printed on 5 sheets. It opens with a cover showing the contents and lines for the month and whose booklet it is. The budget overview sets income against what you have planned to spend and what still needs a plan, then compares planned, actual and the difference across 14 categories running from housing to gifts, with a money intention for the month. The income page holds a 12 row table where you note the date, the source and the amount you expected and received, with totals, your paydays, ideas for earning extra and where every dollar goes first. On the bills checklist, 15 bills each get a due date, an amount and boxes for autopay and paid, followed by the total, how much is paid, how much is still due and what lands next month. Sinking funds cover 7 funds, each with its goal, the monthly amount and what is saved so far, along with a wait 30 days wish list. Then come 4 weekly spending logs that each spread over two pages: your budget for the week and what is spent and left, a 17 row log of each purchase by date, item, category and amount, a further 12 rows if you need them, a split of the week over 6 categories, no-spend days and one small win. Savings goals has room for 2 goals, each with a target, a deadline and a progress bar in 20 steps, plus a deposits log and why this matters to you. Debt payoff lists 6 debts with balance, interest rate and minimum payment, an 11 row log of payments, what you paid this month, the total still owed and which debt to tackle next. No-spend days gives you a grid of 31 days, your own rules, a list of things to do instead of buying, and a count of the days and money you kept. The month review weighs planned against actual for income, spending, saving and debt repaid, and asks for your money wins, your largest category, what surprised you, two scales from 1 to 5 and one thing you will do next month. A money notes page follows, then a next month page for expenses on the way, costs that do not come every month, ways to save and questions to research, and a back page with notes and a checklist to run through before you print the next booklet
- 14 to 17The envelope week mini booklet, 8 pages printed on 2 sheets. After its cover comes a week plan where you write this week's money and the pay week, fill in a table for 8 envelopes with a budget and whether you use cash or card, and list the bills due and what you are saving toward. Four envelope pages hold 2 envelopes apiece (groceries, gas, eating out, household, personal, kids and pets, fun, extra), and each envelope has a budget line plus 7 rows to log the date, what the money was for, the amount spent and what remains. The week wrap-up totals every envelope's budget, spending and balance, decides where leftover money goes, gives the week a score and notes what went well and what to change, and a back page offers space for notes and a short checklist
