Overview

Life admin cards in true 3 by 5 and 4 by 6 inch index sizes give the paperwork side of home life a small card box of its own. Across 31 undated pages you get ten designs, each offered in both sizes and marked for trimming, backs in lined and dot grid styles, and box dividers labeled Due, Records, People and Routine. You get US Letter and A4 PDF files to download right away; nothing is shipped.

One calm hour a month, a few tidy cards, and fewer surprises in the mail.

How life admin cards keep paperwork under control

Rather than one heavy binder, each piece of household admin gets a small card of its own: what needs renewing and when it runs out, which bills are due on which day, subscriptions, where every document lives, account names, warranties, key contacts and appointments. One look at the Renewals card shows what runs out next and when to act, and the Bills card tracks due day, amount, payment method, autopay and paid.

The Monthly admin hour card walks you through eight steps for one relaxed hour each month, and a once a year calendar card collects everything that comes up annually. No dates are printed, so you can begin in any month and print new copies only when a card runs out of room.

Who it is for

  • Anyone who loses track of when the passport, driver's license or car registration runs out
  • Busy households that would rather keep bills, subscriptions and appointments on a handful of little cards than in a whole binder
  • Index card fans who like each subject on its own card, sorted behind tabs
  • Anyone who wants a relative or partner to be able to find the important papers
  • Those who like cards better than full pages; the shop's Life Admin Workbook offers the full page version

Design and card sizes

  • Elegant and minimal: white pages with soft blush pink accents that use very little ink
  • Wide margins, so a home printer will not clip anything
  • Exact trim sizes: 3 by 5 inches (7.6 by 12.7 cm), three on a sheet, and 4 by 6 inches (10.2 by 15.2 cm), two on a sheet, with crop marks, printed on US Letter (8.5 by 11 inches) or A4 (210 by 297 mm)
  • Undated, so you can begin in any month
  • Print double sided with a long edge flip, and the lined or dot grid backs match the fronts

Questions

Questions about the life admin cards

What sizes do the cards come in?

All ten designs come in a small size, three to a sheet, and a large size, two to a sheet, with trim marks, printable on US Letter or A4.

What should I print them on?

Heavy card stock of roughly 200 to 250 grams (65 to 90 pound), printed at actual size rather than scaled. Trim along the marks, ideally with a paper trimmer.

Should I write passwords on the cards?

No. Only note what each account or document is called and where it is stored. Passwords, PINs and complete ID or account numbers should never go on a card.

How is this different from the Life Admin Workbook?

The workbook uses full pages, while these are small index cards filed behind tabbed dividers in a card box.
